We're post-scarcity on glassware (the glass often costs less than the drink in it) and its cool to see exactly why.
they're doing this to me tomorrow
This kind of turnout suggests major Democratic activation in the state. Across the board, Dems are going to have tailwinds heading into 2026. Anti-Trump backlash has been the big driver of Democratic wins in the last decade after losing so much ground during the Obama years. El-Sayed can win.
To contextualize this turnout: Slotkin won her seat with 2.7 million votes in the general. The primary had ~930K total votes. Apologies for my previous post, which wasn’t clear on this.
sorry folks but one of the many awful, terrible things about politics is that you do sometimes have to reward politicians, even those you don’t like much, with high-value liver treats for actually doing what you want them to do
Oh so the moon-posting on Threads is way more insane than I thought, this is great.
Very cute that leftists actually think "Withholding an endorsement when I lose because I'm just so mad and also afraid my supporters will stop giving me money if I'm seen as selling out" is a universal problem
AI is effective for knowledge work and yeah basically all jobs are going to be managing it, I think you're going to see a lot of outsourcing because business process outsourcers are going to be able to use AI to do a lot of the heavy lifting in a way that it may not make sense for SME to do.
thinking about the nightmare future where AI *is* effective for knowledge work and that *doesn't* destroy all the jobs but but *does* turn every job in to purely managerial and strategy-alignment work because implementation becomes free
The “Hitler could have won if he wasn’t a moron” of electoral politics
[takes drag of a cigarette] GOP would never lose an election if they were so racist but if they weren’t so racist they wouldn’t be the modern GOP anymore
But tiktok also shows me things like this so I can never stay mad at it for long
Bluesky gets pretty out there but it still can’t hold a candle to tiktok for unhinged political takes. This week I saw someone get dogpiled for saying that cheating isn’t sexual assault. People were calling for anti-cheating legislation and everything.
A staggering 1.5 million Democrats voted in the Michigan Senate primary. That’s a huge showing.

Rep. Max Miller on Newsmax: "If any of these things were true, I would be in prison"
El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"
Am I wrong to think what’s going on here is that is not much more complicated than the GOP has become the white people’s party and that’s enough to control Missouri, despite only having policies that people hate.
NEW: Republicans tried to get Missourians to effectively kill direct democracy and ballot initiatives. Last night, Missourians literally laughed in their face — rejecting the measure by a massive 80% to 20%. Here’s what to know:
Every time I see a post about the other one I have a panic attack that one of the few good creators left has done something horrible lol
This is the only Max Miller I trust.

oh my god: a trump-endorsed candidate lost the GOP primary to a guy who suspended his campaign last month: www.politico.com/news/2026/08... trump completely washed, juiceless, cooked, it's over, lamest of the lame ducks, many people are saying it
Trump-backed candidate in battleground Michigan district loses to opponent who dropped out
Amir Hassan lost to Tom Smith, who had suspended his campaign but is now jumping back into the race for the purple 8th District.

Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.
It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.
seriously, they seem to be passing that particular test just fine right now

fwiw it's hard to remember now but Obama's primary, which I supported and worked on,was extremely demoralizing to a lot of Clinton's supporters&was absolutely tinged with misogyny around the margins, but Obama pivoted to include the whole party after winning El-Sayed has a chance to do similar
don't borrow trouble. don't imagine scenarios where people you don't like are even worse. they're already bad! you'll just bum yourself out.
So many more kinds of food widely available now compared to the old days. Thai! Indian! Middle Eastern! That's just in Missoula, a not-very-big city in Montana! I remember my childhood and it wasn't like that:
Verify your age (and, in my case, region) The only Asian places were the kinds of Americanized Chinese restaurants with bamboo chopsticks that came in red paper wrapping with a diagram of how to use chopsticks and the Classic Chinese Zodiac Paper Placemat
Love that. The you could get those little crunchy chow mein noodles to make it extra special.
