INKS I got my ink When I left the corporate world Took my first steps On the road to edgy A salamander A Triple Goddess symbol Driving and supporting me As I wielded ink and paper Told my truth Made it indelible Yes, child This old woman is still cool #poem #poetry #inks @yeehawpoems.bsky.social

Some sort of reddish berries and flowers cast against the light sky

I tested out some new kit last night: Askar 50P scope and Optolong L-Ultimate narrow-band filter. Conditions are not great here. Bortle 8 light pollution with patchy smoke from current western US fires. Target was the North American Nebula (NGC 7000) with 6-hour total exposure.

The North America Nebula (NGC 7000 or Caldwell 20) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, close to Deneb (the tail of the swan and its brightest star) in the night sky. It is named because its shape resembles North America. On the right is the Pelican Nebula, also named because of its shape..

I'm always astounded when I see pictures of planets. Like what do you mean that actually exists out there? And then time? Lightyears as a measure of distance? Who needs to get high when you can think about science. We're made out of cells made out of atoms?? I should sleep

I continue to take advantage of the clear skies, steady air, and good placement to image Saturn in the early morning. There is a hint of structure in the rings interior to the Cassini division in this image from yesterday morning. Details in ALT. #astrophotography

image of saturn with some cloud bands visible. the cassini division shows as a gap in the rings. saturn casts a shadow on the rings in the lower right. Meade 8" SCT with 2x barlow and ZWO ASI662MC camera. The best 15% of 11983 frames were stacked with Autostakkert and processed with Registax and Photoshop. Video gain 455 with 25 ms exposure
