I tested out some new kit last night: Askar 50P scope and Optolong L-Ultimate narrow-band filter. Conditions are not great here. Bortle 8 light pollution with patchy smoke from current western US fires. Target was the North American Nebula (NGC 7000) with 6-hour total exposure.
I'm always astounded when I see pictures of planets. Like what do you mean that actually exists out there? And then time? Lightyears as a measure of distance? Who needs to get high when you can think about science. We're made out of cells made out of atoms?? I should sleep

Hitler looked into how the US treated Black people & modeled some Nazi tactics from Confederate/KKK ideology. Slave owners had slave catchers and plantation overseers on payroll. What's happening now is American through & through.
