The Right didn't veer hard into Trans Panic because the Left overreacted to the workaday transphobia they were organically fomenting. The Right veered into transphobia in order to repurpose the infrastructure already in place from the Gay Panic industry. And Gay Panic production can resume any time.

Rank and file Republicans are turning against LGBT acceptance and GOP politicians are leaning into bigotry in both rhetoric and policy. But it is you, the progressive queer or ally, who needs to open your mind and consider other people's feelings. news.gallup.com/poll/710810/...

Most of the recent changes in LGBTQ+ attitudes have occurred among Republicans. For example, in 2021 and 2022, 55% of Republicans said they favored legal same-sex marriage, but today, the figure is 37%. Among independents, support has dropped six points, to 67%, while Democrats’ views are the same as in 2022 (87% in favor).

I have a problem with trans people playing sports: There aren't nearly close to enough of them doing it, and we need to smash down the barriers preventing it, and generally preventing anyone trans from living their best, most fulfilling life. Fuck anyone who wants to stop, silence, or exclude them.

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

Instead of poisoning the ants, I let them discover that there's nothing for them here. They ate their fill, and over time a small sect came to realize that craving cannot be satiated. They now trail in and skillfully criticize my understanding of the Dharma. I place crumbs in their tiny wooden bowls

Oil drilling and trucks are inherently feminine. Oil is extractive, relying on outside forces to provide her with free goods. Big trucks fulfill a woman’s desire to be safe and held. Solar and bikes are masculine. They rely on self-sufficiency and strength to meet one’s needs. The Jeffersonian ideal

Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2

In Australia we have this election-time ritual called “Vote Compass” where the national broadcaster releases an online tool where everyone enters their preferred policy positions, finds out the party closest to them is the Greens, then doesn’t vote for them

2004 was when I read an article about how voters liked Kerry’s policy positions **much** more than GWB’s policy positions, but they thought, incorrectly, that GWB had those positions.

My advice for dating is simple and foolproof: get a dog. Take the dog out to places. Meet people who like dogs. If you don't end up in a relationship after that, you still have a dog which is the most important part anyway.

I don’t understand what just happened. The team that deleted T1 from existence two games in a row just itself got deleted from existence?? #msi

Horrible new bullshit from the sea every time. It’s never ‘oh we found a new pink fish that is so happy’ it’s always stuff like this, the crush-depth screw-headed dongwongler, and it’s got to have big long creepy bits. Sick of the ocean tbh.

Today in niche micro-drama: the moderators of the 40k Imperial Guard subreddit have made a stickied post denouncing The Art of War youtube channel and calling for a boycott because they released a tierlist with the Imperial Guard at "A tier" instead of something lower

I love that Stonehenge isn't a henge, even though that's where the word "henge" comes from. Like the word "gerrymander" is named after Mr. Gerry, who (a) despised the practice and (b) was pronounced with a hard "G". Nonetheless...

fucked up facts: - almost all classical depictions of The Labyrinth have a single path with no branches or dead ends - Stonehenge doesn't qualify for the technical definition of "henge" - the word "zenith" is from an error and should have been "zemth"
