ICE has now spent over $2.2 BILLION on purchasing 4 private prisons from CoreCivic, with the company banking half a billion dollars on the most recent sale. Of course, ICE will not actually operate these facilities; CoreCivic keeps the contracts to run these places for the foreseeable future.

BOURDAIN (voiceover): I found myself surrounded by discarded objects. An empty soda can, a dead battery. Life becomes death. But death can become life. The simmering pot with its spicy aroma in front of me is proof. BOURDAIN: What's in this dish? ME: Pikmin BOURDAIN: Pikmin. Oh man that's good.

i remember there was a streamer who said that he’d vote for Jeffrey Epstein if he were the Democratic nominee that very recently pivoted to “well Abdul has gotta earn my vote” god it’s so fucking funny how washed they are

It bears noting that all the pro-Palestine socialists winning their primaries (and generals) are especially impressive because they're working uphill against the overwhelming propaganda machines constructed in favor of Israel and against socialism for nearly a century by the richest people alive.

Whether or not El Sayed wins, it really speaks volumes about public sentiment toward Israel that even despite what at this point is undeniably the largest and most aggressive and well-funded propaganda campaign in world history, people are still opting in large numbers to say "fuck that".

there is an entire industry of people who give their opinion or predict how things are going to go and their entire job is to be correct are they ever correct? rarely. are there repercussions for being wrong, the thing they are being paid not to be? haha no, no there are not

The ownership class at this point is doing this fucked-up Joker “ha-HAA are you gonna kill us yet? Are you?? How about NOW???” thing and then they’re gonna act all indignant and incensed the next time someone shoots a CEO in broad daylight.

we need a strong republican party and a bipartisan MAHA movement and common sense trans sports bans and a bailout for havana syndrome victims. we need a big tent democratic party that includes war criminals and the lady at the the wellness store trying to get your mom off chemo

That Dem leadership isn't vocally opposing data center construction, an slam dunk 80/20 split across the spectrum, is merely the latest thing that tells you all you need to know about the positions they supposedly take only ~reluctantly~ re: immigration, trans rights, etc.

This is of course correct. No one was "locked down." The very week cuomo shut down the state, i went to the supermarket around the corner from patient zero in NY & it was open for business. (My bright idea was they would have bread when others didnt and i was right lol) bsky.app/profile/luck...

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

Another entry in the list of people who aren't worth talking about politics with are people who hate the outcomes of our government but who balk at any suggestion that we do anything meaningful or substantial to change our government out of some weird reverence to the Founding Fathers.
