ICE has now spent over $2.2 BILLION on purchasing 4 private prisons from CoreCivic, with the company banking half a billion dollars on the most recent sale. Of course, ICE will not actually operate these facilities; CoreCivic keeps the contracts to run these places for the foreseeable future.
Live Nation is swimming in money that they stole from artists and fans. That they would pretend they need to do cost cutting measures is just insulting.

Whether or not El Sayed wins, it really speaks volumes about public sentiment toward Israel that even despite what at this point is undeniably the largest and most aggressive and well-funded propaganda campaign in world history, people are still opting in large numbers to say "fuck that".

That Dem leadership isn't vocally opposing data center construction, an slam dunk 80/20 split across the spectrum, is merely the latest thing that tells you all you need to know about the positions they supposedly take only ~reluctantly~ re: immigration, trans rights, etc.

This is of course correct. No one was "locked down." The very week cuomo shut down the state, i went to the supermarket around the corner from patient zero in NY & it was open for business. (My bright idea was they would have bread when others didnt and i was right lol) bsky.app/profile/luck...
Dr. Lucky Tran@luckytran.com · 3d agoPlease stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.
Another entry in the list of people who aren't worth talking about politics with are people who hate the outcomes of our government but who balk at any suggestion that we do anything meaningful or substantial to change our government out of some weird reverence to the Founding Fathers.
