Amazing comparative study from @djabaudon.bsky.social lab between mus musculus and Acomys (spiny mouse) brain development!

Thrilled to shared our new preprint with @djabaudon.bsky.social ! Led by Ilaria Morassut, we explored "the extent to which early brain maturation requires interactions with the outside world". This wouldn't have been possible without our incredible collaborators, specially the @lanevol.bsky.social 🧵

Loving this new preprint -- such a clever way to examine the question of the importance (or not!) of sensory experience in shaping cortical development. I wish we could have cited this in our discussion on altricial/precocial animals last year.

Registration is still open for the Young PI Neuroscience Symposium. Whether you're a young PI or a "seasoned" postdoc, you can never invest too much in building community; especially in, let’s say, turbulent times. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Very happy to have contributed to this great story 🧠🚀. It focuses on environment-dependent neuronal identity acquisition in the cortex! Big congrats to Natalia Baumann, Ilaria Morassut and Sabine Fièvre for pushing this w/ @djabaudon.bsky.social. Congrats to all! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

🎉 Excited to share that our paper on FCDII is out today! 🙌🏻 Huge thanks to @sbaulac.bsky.social and @sara baldassari for bringing me on board and introducing me to the complexity of somatic mutations. Hope our work helps advance understanding of the disease mechanisms.
