Violent personal revenge is quintessentially reactionary. There's a reason the Death Wish movies were made, and it wasn't to promote the development of a socialist society. The idea that you can solve broad social problems by killing a single person is just generally not true!

I think this gets to the heart of liberal-left complaints about the press. Political reporters think we're criticizing them for not being on "our" side. We're not. We're criticizing them for not being on journalism's side. Unplug from the DC celebrity access system and do honest independent work.
