So apparently that HWA pro-AI newsletter also uses Indigenous water rights issues as a prop, trivializing the activism by Indigenous peoples to protect our water including specific anti-data centre actions. I guess they figured why not alienate Indigenous horror writers while they’re at it?

So why is it that with Long Covid 7 years on we still have this dismissal agenda despite a massive amount of scientific evidence? We really ought to study this sociological phenomenon more closely. That’s what we need more evidence on, not the existence of LC.

I was talking to a friend and realized that a lot of people don't know that officially Karen Carpenter died because of side effects of re-feeding. They fed her so aggressively that it damaged her heart. It's 2026 so the re-feeding process is at least in theory better but anorexia has a long tail.

Amnesty's capitulation is unacceptable, because a human rights NGO is not simply a discount think tank (viz. a double discounted research university). It's part of its job description to specifically leverage its resources to stand its ground against actual and threatened SLAPPs from bad actors!

I work w/building safety codes daily, & I'm starting to get annoyed when post-apoc media makes buildings decay inaccurately. Or worse, make the post-apoc additions require complex machines or materials. I'm not proud of it, but I *do* know what wind shear damage looks like. (Not like *that*.)
