My personality is mostly TTRPGs, Board Games, Knitting, Crochet, & Wizards.

So often what are called “culture wars” are one set of people saying “please can we live without perpetual persecution” and another saying “no, f*** you” but the press considering the latter group have “legitimate concerns” and must be perpetually platformed

EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.

What's up boys? Tabletop developer from the 90s here. I'm going to refer to players as "he", you know, for clarity.

if I was a young person being told that the best our economic system can ever offer me is working longer and longer hours to live with more and more roommates and eat worse and worse food, I might start getting this crazy idea that we need a new economic system

The whole KS just reads as: "This isn't your whimpy kiddie Dungeons & Dragons! this is for Hardcore Badass Tough Guys who think CHAINS and TIDDIES are HOT! **also dw its called deathbringer but you'll totally get your specialist boy main character moments before your character perma dies we promie"

From the brilliant mind of Magnolia Keep comes a second high-octane post about Deathbringer! This time, we look at the game's actual sales pitch and ask: what is this game, and who is this for? https://magnoliakeep.blogspot.com/2026/07/the-thoughtlessness-of-deathbringers_02053113930.html

Hi I’m a Gen Xer whose politics lean neither left nor right, I guess you could call me an independent, kind of homeless politically, maybe the last sane person in an insane world, anyway enjoy my 300 daily posts dedicated solely to bitching about trans people and the left

TTRPG where damage is represented by physically setting the target's character sheet on fire. Damage types dictate where the fire starts (e.g., top-right corner) and the amount is how many seconds the player must wait before stamping it out. Burnt traits are disabled until they fill out a new sheet.

One of the most important moments in my life as an artist was at a summer drama camp in 2014. My teacher said “the audience is everything.” A student asked “so we should be thinking about them?” And without skipping a beat, like it was the most obvious fact in the world, he said “FUCK the audience.”

"death of the audience" is genuinely unironically good advice for anyone who wants to make anything

I really hope things go well with rpg-trader.com General issues w/ monopolies aside, It's solves the majority of my UX gripes with other platforms. I'm tired of digging for the most important pre-purchase info on when I'm supposed to even expect to get something to the table.

The left half of the listing for a game called "Beef" on RPG Trader. You see it's cover image, tags, and the "Description, Details, Reviews, Discussions" bar is set to details where the creators name, the product's category (it's a full game), it's genre, intended audience & content, tone, playstyle, language, and publish date are all easily red down the list.

I know this game is meant to be of a "modern" genre intended for "adult, casual, family-friendly, and low prep" audience with a "humorous, lighthearted, slapstick" tone and a "Duo, GM-less, PvP/Competitive, Rules-light" playstyle from super quick and easy navigation.the full page for World Wide Wrestling: Second Edition. On the right side I see it's title, subtitle and creator listed. imminently below that it's listed as a rules system, game, and powered by the apocalypse. I can add it to my wish list, see that it's on sale. For this game there are purchase options for standard (digital download at normal price), community copies (for this game it's free/pay what you want), playsheets & optional materiel (for this game they're free), that it's in a bundle I can navigate to as well, and below that there's an "also available" block where the creator was able to link buying a physical copy from their website.
Again on the left side set to detail I can see that this is a casual and low prep game. tone is meant to be character-driven, chaotic, cinematic, drama, fast-paced, lighthearted, and maximalist. the playstyle is listed as drop-in/drop-out, episodic, large group, one-shot, open-ended, player-driven, PvP/competitive. and again it's Powered by the Apocalypse and has the bonus tags of "Pro Wrestling, Professional Wrestling." I know everything I could possible expect to know to help me decide if it's a good fit for me and my table.

I'm cautiously optimistic about RPG Trader. If you don't know, it's a new platform for buying and selling rpgs just like DriveThruRPG, Itch, and Lulu. What's making me optimistic? It's rpg-focused. It does away with the 5-star rating system. It has coherent product categories. rpg-trader.com

Rpg trader home page with products in a grid.

Did people jump on that guy too fast and too hard? Maybe. I also noticed he immediately deflected his own responsibility and very proudly Took His Ball. Two things can be true: -a marginalized group that was hurt and reeling after its millionth body blow was not charitable -you fucked up dude

people are often taking things out of context or are a little trigger-happy, but the journalists on here sure do love to circle the wagons to tell the trannies to calm down and make *that* the big issue as fast as humanly possible 👍

At a certain point it became Unfashionable for poets to care about Meter. they just started writing Whatever they wanted Into a vaguely poem-like shape. Whatever happened to sonnets? Are rhyme-schemes trying too hard? Or did we forget to teach people how To read
