#SummerOfStories This is very difficult to explain in words, but stories kept me safe, kept me alive and sheltered when I had to escape from the real world, they made me realize I was trans, they shaped and moulded me... and same for writing, it's life blood. Stories are life.

When I was young, I didn't have books that reflected my experiences. I didn't see a lot of (any) queer women, and the ones I did see were punchlines in bad jokes. Over 4 degrees (most of which were literature based), I can count on my hands the number of queer books I read (1/3) #SummerOfStories
