This is such a lazy piece. It's like "this is a price control, and price controls always fail." First, it's not a price control. It's a government subsidy. Second, price controls don't "always" backfire. They prevent gouging in emergencies and help regulate monopolies.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

The incredible thing about there continuing to be a debate over whether James Carville has any relevant thoughts about current US politics is that I was pretty sure he was near death when I was in high school, and that was 35 years ago.

a lot of what the right does nowadays is create an emotional support system for bigots. bigotry will offend and alienate people in your life, so the right looks provides a counterweight that lavishes you with praise.
I'm pretty sure most people who say it don't actually know what "holistic" means anyway. They usually seem to mean "spiritual but not religious."
